A Great Start!

It occurred to me today that I haven't written on my blog in while! Of course I decide to wait until finals week to decide it is more fun to post on my blog than to study ACLS, which stands for Advanced Cardiac Life Support. I have to get certified before I am allowed to go into my clerkship so hopefully I can save some lives! But since I am feeling pretty good with my skills, I decided to get in a little update!
So the first big news was my fantastic finish at Collegiate Nationals! I was so excited and very proud of a great race. And I couldn't have asked to go down with a better team than MSU. We finished 4th overall in the entire nation! That is the best finish overall that MSU has EVER had! Big news to the tri people around here and very exciting. I still can't get over being on a podium. I have finished in the top 3 before, but never have I gotten to go up on a stage and stand on a podium! I guess that is what happens when hard work pays off and you race well with the big dogs!
My second big news is that I will be racing with Team Striders from Grandville, MI this year! I first learned about Striders from my fiance, Todd. He grew up in Jenison, which is not too far away from Grandville, and he always bought his running shoes from Striders. After meeting some people in the store before Johan's last year and racing against their fantastic team last year, I really wanted to be a part of their team and decided to try my luck and apply. Lucky for me it really paid off and I am now a member of the team!
That is it for now, I promise to be better about updates once the season gets going! And after finals are over!!
