Offseason Fun!

There is something about running in the fall weather that just makes those miles fly by!  I went on a run today, which was only 8.4 miles, which sadly is a long run for me.  It's hard to make myself go slowly after being injured, but I know I need to focus and stay disciplined or I'll just get injured again.  Even today when I ran I could feel my IT band and my hips starting to get sore, but the good news is that my IT band and my hips did not hurt later today while I was walking around town with my parents.  Anyway, back to the happy part.  I followed my coach down some dirt roads and we headed to Sleepy Hollow State Park.  There are few places as pretty as the State Park, especially on the trails.  We didn't go through the trails very much, but it is so pretty in the park that I was still very happy with the view.  Those miles went by really fast, and I had no idea how fast I had gone on the run.

In other good news, my off season is going very well.  Although I am very busy with school, I have gotten creative with my schedule and I am fitting in workouts almost every day.  Sometimes it just comes down to turning off the TV and setting the alarm clock for 5:00 am, but from what I have heard from a doctor who is also a triathlete, this seems to be a normal part of life for doctors.  So I might as well get used to it now!  I have become very fond of spinning classes in the morning because I get to see some good friends.  Hopefully next week will go as smoothly as the past weeks have, but school always has to come first, especially with the Biochemistry Final coming up next Monday!
