Starting the off season

Strangely, I've been looking forward to the off season quite a bit. It is probably because I struggled with injuries so much this season. My injuries weren't that serious, just a pulled IT band and a dislocated rib. The rib was probably the most frustrating though because it took 6 weeks for someone to figure out what was wrong! But anyway, now the off season has finally begun and I can start working toward next season! This season (2009) wasn't really going to be a big season anyway because I started medical school at Michigan State. So I kind of figured that I should focus on school and see what it was all about before trying to commit to a serious season. But now I have survived the first semester of medical school and I feel very, very lucky and happy that I chose MSU because they actually want us to exercise! They gave out free passes to the IM facilities as MSU! I managed to get one of those, and it will make my off season training so much easier because now I have access to spin classes. But most of all I'm excited to have an off season with a coach. Especially a coach like Jimi who knows what I want to achieve and understands my drive. So here is to the beginning of a great off season!
